The most prestigious awards for client service excellence.

The Awards recognise businesses in the wedding industry which go the extra mile for their customers, providing outstanding service and inspiring their customers to want to actively and positively promote them.

Each year, hundreds of companies enter into the awards. Votes are submitted in their thousands. From these votes finalists are created, and the winners are normally announced at York Racecourse, where we enjoy a delicious three course meal and celebrations carry on until the early hours. We are especially looking forward to this years celebrations, and putting the pandemic behind us.

Is Your Business Ready to Enter the Awards?

When voting, your customers will be reviewing and giving feedback on your business and its ability to provide:


  • High standard of customer service ​
  • Excellent quality product/service​
  • Value for money​
  • Going above and beyond what is expected​
  • Overall professionalism


Analysis of your customer votes will be carried out by a panel of judges.

Nominations open 1st April until 31st MayVoting begins 1st June until the 13th Septemberand finalists will be notified in September.

Rules & Information

Please read these full terms and conditions of entry before registering your business in the Awards.

Are you eligible?

To be eligible to enter the awards, you must have business premises in/provide your services from home to Wedding Couples in Yorkshire or The North East in one or more of the following categories:

Town & City Venue
Countryside Venue
Live Music
Wedding Coordinator
Cakes & Treats
Wedding Cars & Carriages
Venue Stylist
Bridal Gowns & Occasion Wear
Health & Beauty
Jewellery & Accessories
Wedding Services*
Wedding Registrar/Celebrant
New Wedding Business**

*Any type of service that does not have a specific category, eg. gift companies, honeymoon services, toastmaster, should enter wedding services. If 2 or more of the same type of supplier enter, we will create a category for them.

**To enter the New Business Category, you must have started trading within 12 months of the date that registration for the awards opened.

• Only individual business’s may enter. A collaboration of business’s is not eligible.

• If your business has more than one store or outlet, then you may enter them separately. This means that they may be competing with one another in the final.

• If only one business enters in any particular category, that category will be merged with that of another region. Should there be no entrants in other regions, than that category will be closed and the entrant moved in to wedding services.

• Should two or more of the same business type enter the wedding services category, a category for that type of supplier will be created.

• By taking part in the awards, you agree to be contacted and possibly visited by the judges.


When voting, your customers will be asked to score you on different aspects of their experience:

  • Standard of customer service
  • Quality of product/service
  • Value for money
  • Going above & beyond

The score will be 0 to 10, 10 being the highest

Votes must be from couples; 
Who were married, or should have been married between 1st June 2020 and 13th September 2021
Interacted with the business between 1st June 2020 and 13th September 2021
Votes must be received by 5pm on the 13th september 2021

You will receive the reviews after the awards
If any vote is found to be fraudulent, the entrant will be disqualified.


The scores from the voting process are added together and divided by the number of votes, giving each business a final figure.
Those with the highest figures become finalists, and their votes are passed on to the judges.
All entrants will receive an email informing them of who are finalists.

The judges will analyse the comments in the votes, and appoint a winner from each category based on the four key measures;

  • Standard of customer service
  • Quality of product/service
  • Value for money
  • Going above & beyond

The judge’s decision is final

The Winners

The North of England Wedding Awards 2021 will be hosted at York Racecourse in October. The winners will be announced, and afterwards contact will be made to arrange collection of the award.
